William Janszon Blaeu founder of the great map publishing house of Blaeu was the first man to produce maps showing two hemispheres. His son Johannes Blaeu combine the maps into two enormous atlas between the years 1647 and 1658. This map taken from an original 4ft 6in *3ft 6in is signed by the founder of the Blaeu house, dedication address to Papal Ambassador in Venice, probably as a gift.
